How to Enter Test Mode on XPR5550
Here is how to enter the test mode on a Motorola XPR5550.
It's basically the same process, just different button. This will work on color display model radios. Plus, you can enter the various other tests:
- RF Test
- Display Test
- LED Test
- Speaker Tone Test
- Earpiece Test
- Audio Loopback Test
- Audio Loopback Earpiece Test
- Button/Knob/PTT Test
To get this going, power cycle your XPR mobile. Within 5 seconds of it completing it's boot up, press the P2 button 5 times, and it will enter the first test.
Press and hold P1 to switch test modes.
RF Test Mode
Pressing P1 will toggle between the different channel spacings
Pressing P2 will toggle between the various RF Test environments as follows:
1-CSQ (single beep), 2-TPL (two beeps), 3-DIG (three beeps), 4-USQ (4 beeps)
Display Test Mode
After you enter the display test, you can press any button to turn on the two character, seven segment display.
LED Test Mode
Press any button to switch between the LED colors (Red, Green, Yellow)
Speaker Tone Test Mode
The radio will generate a 1khz tone with the internal speaker
Earpiece Tone Test Mode
The radio will generate the same 1khz tone within any earpiece connected
Audio Loopback Test Mode
The radio will route any audio on the mic to the internal speaker
Audio Loopback Earpiece Test Mode
The radio will route any audio on the mic to a connected earpiece
To exit test mode, power cycle the radio.
